Mar 21-24

4th/5th-

Our weekly memory work for this week is:

"I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God --- this is your spiritual act of worship."  Romans 12:1

Students will be expected to recite their memory work at the end of the week.  Please help your child review these memory passages in order to successfully recite it on Friday mornings.

Hello everyone!

Our first semester has come and gone, and boy have we made strides!  We reviewed concepts, we introduced new skills, we created an inviting classroom, we welcomed new friends, we added new math warm-ups to start each of our classes, we worked hard on assignments and tasks at hand, AND most of all - We Are Knights!

Our learning continues into second semester, and we are super excited about that!  Here is what we have going on this week.  Please continue to look through your child's blue folder for news, announcements, and any assignments/homework they might have.

Mar 21-24

4th/5th-

Bob's, Pizza Frog's, and ATM's - these are our groups for our 4th and 5th grades.  Assignments, test and homework will be assigned by these groups moving forward.

We will apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication to multiply a fraction by a whole number.  We will also investigate the relationship between two numeric patterns.  We continue to review solving problems involving money and be able to label correctly.  We will continue working on fractions and decimals and how they relate, and challenge ourselves on our multiplication facts for speed and consistency.

Please continue to use the above skills in your everyday activities at home.  Repetition is key!

You may see homework begin to come home this week and/or into next.  It will not be lengthy, rather to keep in practice with these everyday math skills.

Your kiddos continue to be amazing!  Thank you for your continued support!

2nd/3rd-

2nd - We will learn to partition shapes into equal shares and describe the shares and whole.  We continue to build our skills related to all things money and multiplication skills and concepts.

3rd - We will introduce and cover the differences between perimeter and area while demonstrating filling a rectangle to find the area and multiplying the lengths of the sides result in the same value.  We continue discussion and practice on money, giving change, combinations of coins, and proper labeling.  We will continue our work on applying properties of operations as strategies to multiply and divide, while continuing to practice our multiplication and division skills and currency skill sets.

Your kiddos are truly working hard and continue to improve on a daily basis.  Thank you for your continued support!

K/1-

Group warm up, followed by Calendar Time, and working on our representation of objects by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's.  We will focus our efforts on adding & subtracting within 10 and work on consistency and fluency.  We have continued work on our clock skills, the concept of time and the devices that measure time. This has been a fun concept to watch your kiddos learn.  We will move forward telling time and writing time to the nearest hour and half hour both in analog and digital formats.

Your children continue to do amazing things!  We have fun, challenge each other, and continue to learn every day.  Thank you for your continued support!

PE classes are "moving"!

March weather will be week to week for PE classes being indoor or outdoor. We continue to use our sanctuary space well and our opportunities for movement still remain!  We warm up, we stretch, we work on our skills and we group play on the daily.  We concluded our Musical Movement unit and will move into a Readiness, Balance, & Strategy unit keeping Ultimate Rock, Paper, Scissors, Human Tic Tac Toe, and Hooper Scooper around for additional team fun.

PE continues to rock & roll!
